I have bought another bike. yes this one makes number 10 or something.

Yes I have bought a road bike. And yes Dave is putting the pressure on to buy lycra.

I was looking for a roadie purely because I do ride down the M7 and it would be easier than an MTB. Also Avanti and Specialized have had a falling out and the Specialized gear is super cheap.

So long story short, I was cruising ebay and bikeexchange.com and found in Bundaberg a guy selling older bikes for next to nothing. It just so happened i was traveling to Bundaberg for a meeting. I went into the store and checked it out. Mike was with me and he couldn't believe the prices himself.

I bought it home, or back to mikes house, and Mike stripped it and rebuilt it fully.
The maiden voyage was last sunday. I liked riding it and it was easy to go quicker than a MTB. I was still slower than Dave and Trent but I'm not out to beat anyone.
After the ride I was stuffed. Dave really pushed me hard to the finish line. My legs were screaming at me to stop and my arse just stopped talking to me. 42K's round trip.
I hope this gets easier!

And yet another Kuwahara!!!!!

I found a bike on the side of the road in Mildura last month. I picked it up purely for shits and giggles as every time I go on holidays, I come back with a bike.

I did have an idea for this though.........

I have bought yet another bike. Yes another one. This will make number nine in 14 months.

It a 2008 DC x SE Quadangle 24" Cruiser. Same as the white one but black and a DC collaboration.

I thought about this one long and hard before I bought it. I think it sits beautifully alongside my white Quad and the 26" Ripper.

More on bikes.

So with the Black one all done and dusted, I try to ride it for an Alleycat.

The pedals are as shit now as they were in 1983! Terrible grip! and something is wrong with the rear tyre/tuff combo. If I corner rear hard it seems to roll and slip, making a skid type noise. It feels like I'm drifting. Still is good for an alternative cruiser to my 24".

Kelly and I recently went on a cruise from Sydney to Brisbane. I had already arranged a new bike to be waiting for me in Brisbane. :)

A Repco Monoshock like my brother had back in the day.
It needs work. I'll paint the forks and stem clamp back to silver, try to rebuild the forks and generally tidy up the frame. I'm trying to find some bars as the ones on there are too small in diameter and knurled in the wrong spot. It fun to ride. Really comfortable and easy. I doubt if i'll find too many parts on ebay for it but I'll keep searching.

I have also enquired about a Fixie the other day.
I spoke to the Redline importer about getting an Urbis over here.

Seems like its a goer and should arrive in late July early August.
I'll turn it into a single speed for starters to get used to it.

This is a continuation of the last post.

So back from the Honeymoon and back to work.

I had a promotion of sorts. New title and responsibility but no real pay rise as yet. No real instructions or guidance either. Its quite frustrating as I had asked for a pay rise given what I was already doing, then to be given more work with the promise of more money. I fell behind in my normal work because we needed to employ another, and that meant all the new tasks were put on the shelf as well.

Still, we have a new employee now so I guess things are looking good.

On to bikes!

I built up my Black'n'Chrome frame to be ridden.

All repro parts or NOS where required to keep the style.

So, its now May and its been 6 months since my last post.

I'm married now. Had an awesome day. It was 42 degrees and everyone was sweltering but me. I was comfortable as I usually am.
The day went of without a hick up and everyone commented on how good the day was. Awesome food (seafood buffet) and just a very relaxed chilled out atmosphere.

For the honey moon we went to HAWAII!!!!

It was sooo good. Spent a shitload of money but things were so cheap thanks to the good aussie dollar. I had a Lotus Elise to drive around the island for a day, and a Dodge Charger for a few days as well .
The weather was sensational for the most part but it still rained a little.

I went on a mountain bike tour through a valley that Hollywood uses for Lost, Windtalkers, 50 First Dates and pretty much any scenic shots.
It was a really relaxed ride and the pace was very slow. Most of the others never rode off road or even new what single track was. One old guy bailed out early and bypassed the single track for the fire trail, hit a puddle and snapped his ankle. Lucky for him there was an X-Games run on in the same valley with doctors on hand.

While we were there, I picked up my SE 26" Ripper.

YAH!!!!

It just sits in the spare room and has not been ridden at all.

Hmmm, its been awhile since my last blog. I kinda forget its here.

Well I've bought another Kuwahara frame. This one is black and chrome. I sold one Laserlite so that made life a little easier. I've ordered a PK Ripper from Hawaii. I'll pick it up when I'm there.

I'm exicted to get a LTD Edition thats rare in OZ. What I need to do is find a set of wheels to replace the stock ones, so I can ride it.

And while we're on bikes, my NOS Araya 7X's came in. They look awesome! I really should replace the nipples with new ones though. and pay someone to tighten them up and true them. I think they really look the part on the KZ-1R. I'm so happy with the way it turned out. Cost a fricken fortune and I'll never get the money back but it was for me and not for investment or money.

Well time for an update.

The messages I have been getting on my phone turn out to be from customers on the Three network who can't dial the right number. The Three network SMSC routing logic ads the prefix to the number and send the message off to me. GRRRR. But I spoke to someone at Three who can help.
Fingers crossed on that one!

I have bought paintball gloves and a cup (for the boys) and will look at a padded shirt and pants, purely for MTBing but as an added measure i can wear to paintball!

So that brings up to the Honeymoon in Hawaii. Kelly has booked a Lotus Elise for me to dive while on the island. I can't wait for that one, but it gets better! Kelly has just booked a 2009 Mustang convertible for me for a holiday next year. Fly to LA, do the touristy stuff like Disneyland and Universal, then drive the Mustang down Route 66 to Las Vegas for Cirque Du Soleil shows X 2. Then fly back to San Fransisco so I can ride a bike across the Golden Gate Bridge. How cool is that? Kelly has booked this holiday around all the stuff we like with added stuff that I like.

Time for an update as requested.

I'm in the process (along with my mates) to organise a bucks night. The sad part is, when its discussed with people, one comment seems to come up. "I hope the stripper doesn't turn out to be your ex-wife". What I find sad is that it is possible and other people know it!
Which brings me to this point. What is the definition of a prostitute? Is it someone that sells herself for sex? Does advertising for sex constitute "selling"? For the second time I have been informed of the ex being on Adult Match Maker. She has been a member since 2006 and paying for the privilege to advertise for sex. Hmmm thats two years before the breakup. There are other options here but they are all quite morally wrong. I'll let you think about them.

I have been getting very bizarre SMS's lately. Quite a few at random times through out the day. All from random numbers and just three names. Edward followed by two names. It turns out my number has been published as a competition line to win airfares to LA for Twilight. I have contacted ACPMedia and their response was basically "oh fuck".
You betcha "Oh Fuck!' here's a competition which no-one will win as you've published the wrong number!

So onto better news. I got a new seat for the Quad.

As well as some more bits for the Kuwahara.

I'm waiting to get some good photos and I'm going to enter into the Sydney Custom Bike Comp with the film festival. Go Away Rain!!!!!!

Onto Ebay Antics!
I had 8 emails from "ebay" to my work email. I don't have an ebay account linked to that email address, so it was a scam. again!
I got sniped for some very rare Kuwahara tyres last week! I didn't see the point going higher than $380 for tyres. They would have been sweet and a perfect addition but the price just got too high to justify. Probably a good thing since as soon as the auction ended, the Reserve Bank raised interest rates!

Counting down to the wedding too. I need to write a speech! I hate making speeches.

I am looking forward to Hawaii though. Everything is paid for! the US dollar keeps getting better. And I get to drive a Lotus Elise around Hawaii! That will be amazing! As will be the mountain biking around the island and the snorkelling. I can't wait!

I'm really excited today.

Tonight I'll be on the Alleycat ride with about 20-30 other bike riders, terrorizing the CBD.

Its going to be so much fun!

I bought lights for the quad and a new BMX helmet. I ripped the stickers of it and put my own back on.

I sold some stuff on Ebay recently to finance the Quad. but then I bought some stuff too. I finally found the BMX goodness I needed for the Kuwahara! WOOHOO. Its going to look sweet!

Yesterday I bought another bike.

Yes! Another one.

I really wanted a bike to ride rather than "Artwork" as I prefer to call my Kuwahara's

I had seen the SE Bikes at Hell On Wheels (H.O.W)and really liked them but the price for them was just a little too much. Didn't stop me wanting one! I had messaged Rob from H.O.W to see if he still had the ones I was looking at. He did but the sly bugger didn't mention an upcoming sale.

I bought the Laserlite and then saw the sale a couple days later. I still really wanted either a 24" or a 26" cruiser. I was even looking on Ebay to see what was around.

I decided to sell some things on Ebay to get some extra cash to go towards the Cruiser.

I had built up all the hype in my head! I was in the store, looking at the bikes, and my head said "Not until you sell the Laserlite!" and "Kelly will cut your nads off" but my heart was saying "You'll be kicking yourself if you miss out!"
I usually have a problem. I see something and I buy it because I'll stress over it, go back and it will be gone!

A few months ago I tripped and tore the crap outta my arm. Its been 4 months and finally I can straighten it out.

I decide to go check out a BMX store and I see a Laserlite like I already had for $300 cheaper. Grrrr to that! Then I trip walking out the day, smash my phone, scuff my purdy fancy shoes and stuff my arm again. I'm in a world of pain and can't use it again.

So to make myself feel better, I go back to buy the bike since its in better condition than mine.

What to say?

I'm home alone.

Waiting for my girl to come home from San Fransisco.

Can't sleep. Can't do anything but wait.

I'm always discombobulated when she's not around.

It's funny, when we are home together, it just feels right. We may not talk or do much, but its comfortable and we seem to sleep better knowing we are together each night.
